SITREP:
- Approximately 7 hrs ago, US Navy F-18s from CVN 71 exchanged fire with Chinese F-18 copies supposedly conducting freedom of navigation exercises near Saipan.
- Aircraft on both sides were downed.
- During subsequent CSAR operations another exchange of fire took place and additional aircraft were downed.
- CSAR operations recovered 3 US pilots and 1 Chinese pilot. 1 US pilot remains unaccounted for and has been classified as MIA.
- During the CSAR operations, it was discovered that the Chinese have placed an SA-10 on Anatahan island.
- Chinese attempted a strike on Andersen which was turned away at great cost
- Naval forces attempted to take out the SA-10 site with partial success. It needs another hit.
- This constitutes and Act of War, though no official declarations have yet been made.
- Pentagon has alerted US Forces worldwide and initiated DEFCON 2.
- Washington has tasked the Pentagon with a limited response to the situation in the Marianas: Deadly Force authorized to remove SA-10 from Anatahan, Direct engagement of Chinese carrier task force and other Chinese assets operating in international waters in and around Guam is authorized.
- Additional Chinese surface ships have been detected and appear to be on a rendezvous course with the Chinese carrier task force.
- In short, open hostilities are believed to be imminent.
CUROPS:
- US Air and Naval forces in Hawaii and along the West Coast are being mobilized.
- Reinforcements to Guam by air are expected in 2-4 hours.
- Naval Reinforcements are expected within 44 - 68 hours.
- USAF and US NAVY assets in the Marianas must defend Guam and support civilian evacuation efforts which are currently underway.
ACTION:
- Defend airlift operations evacuating civilians and military personnel from Saipan and Tinian islands
- Defend COD operation bringing much needed supplies and personnel to CVN 71
- CVN 71 F-18s will conduct anti-ship to take out Chinese carriers
- CVN 71 F-18s will establish CAP over anti-ship operations
- USAF F-15s will strike Chinese assets on and near Anatahan
- USAF F-16s will patrol the SE Sector of Guam and Defend Airborne Tankers and Awacs
- USAF F-16s will conduct CAP/SEAD/DEAD SA-10 on Anatahan
- USAF B-52s will bomb carrier
