Carrier strike group one has arrived off the north west of the Falkland Islands, flight planning is under way for operations in the British AMBER WEST training range. With this training cycle, several different weapons will be deployed to ensure that all flight crews are up to speed on both conventional and smart weapon, and can complete delivery of said weapons in a safe manner. This flight training will be ongoing as the AMBER WEST range will be open to US and Chilean forces as per British military forces until the operation has concluded. With that being said training flights can and will be on off schedule days to insure the currency of all flight crews. Expected weapons qualifications are required on below weapons:

MK-82/84 500lb Conventional Bombs 
ZUNI MK-71 Rockets

As the Chilean airforce has now stationed a KC-135 tanker at RAF Mount Pleasant, it has been fitted with the MPRS basket tanking equipment and will be utilized on this training fight.

ENTRY TO AMBER WEST TRAINING RANGE WILL ONLY BE BY CLEARANCE FROM SNIPER 1 RANGE CONTROL. BEFORE ENTERING RANGE AIRSPACE ALL AIRCREWS WILL CONTACT SNIPER 1 ON RANGE CONTROL FREQUENCY 273.500. THERE ARE 2 RANGES IN THE TRAINING FACILTY, RANGE 1 (EAST) IS PRIMARILY USED FOR PROPELLED ORDINANCE (ROCKETS / MAVERICKS) WHILE RANGE 2 (WEST) IS PRIMARILY USED FOR BOMBING AND STRAFFING PASSES. AT ANY POINT RANGE CONTROL MAY CLEAR AIRCREWS IN FOR DIFFERENT ORDINANCE ON EITHER RANGE HOWEVER ALL ORDINANCE WILL BE DELIVERED AS PER RANGE CONTROL. SPECIAL CARE IS TO BE USED TO ENSURE CORRECT ORDINANCE IS DELIVERED.

NOTE : RANGE 1 WILL WILL HAVE A MANDATORY LEFT HAND PATTERN AT ALL TIMES, CONVERSLEY RANGE 2 WILL HAVE A MANDATORY RIGHT HAND PATTERN AT ALL TIMES, THIS IS IN PLACE TO AVOID CONFLICTS WITH MULTIPLE AIRCRAFT UTILIZING THE TRAINING FACILITY. COUTERMEASURES ARE APPROVED FOR USE AT THIS TIME.
