Peace is for the weak: Hop 3 Southern Horizon April 19 2025
From: VNAVCOM / FAchCOM SOUTH
To: VCAW-1 / FAch Air Command
Subject: Air Tasking Order 04192025 - 03
Effective Date: April 19 2025
USS Roosevelt continues operations in the Falkland's area of operations. As Argentinian naval vessels seem to be pouring out of home ports and into open water (possibly due to a breakdown of diplomatic discussions leading to Argentinian president recalling all members) Both NAVCOM and FAch command has decided to shift into blue water tracking and training. With this the British forces in the area have been gracious and given us the use of their extensive radio controlled sea borne targets. Several groups of these targets have been setup around the island and will be employed in search and destroy training for both NAVCOM F18 and FAch F16 aircrews. Flight leads will depart, head to refueling points then navigate to patrol areas assigned, find then plan effective tactics on the fly to destroy assigned targets in their sectors. All groups will have a British destroyer as the controller for the group. It goes without saying that this is NOT a valid target and will be far out of the target area. NAVCOM has also tasked two flights with ship patrol on the Northwest and Southwest of the AO. As there has been intel reports of cargo ships being in the area NAVCOM wants to get eyes on them and attempt to determine loading on the decks. These flights will be equipped with ATFLIR pods and if any ships are found in the AO low level recon passes will be permitted.
Chile has flown over another KC135 refueling aircraft and there will be both basket and boom aircraft on station.
