To: VCAW-1
Subject: Air Tasking Order 04052025 - 01
Effective Date: April 5 2205

With Tensions rising in the area as reported,  Carrier Group One has been mobilized to the Falkland islands. Upon arrival in the Falklands aircrew will be conducting a series of training exercises in conjuncture with both British ground and Chilean air forces. Chilean Air Forces will be making the transit through point "Nogales 1" which is a break in the Argentinian border that has given both Chilean air and sea forces easy access to the Atlantic ocean. While both sides have had a long standing agreement that this is a 'free use' area, with recent tensions between the two countries, it is unknown how long this will be a non contested piece of land. A small contingent of Chilean Air forces stationed in the south including tanker aircraft, will be moving through this area and have been instructed that while the channel is free travel, that any deviation from the filed flight plan will not be tolerated. Plan is for Chilean vipers to rendezvous with their KC-135 tanker before moving through point Nogales and then escorting said tanker to mount pleasant AFB in the Falklands where they will be stationed for integration training with F-18 hornets from VMFA-115.

VMFA-115 aircrew are tasked with advanced training and integration for the next few sorties. As there has been no declaration of official hostilities, the US has simply stated that the arrival of Carrier Group One is in order to solidify integration with current NATO (British) allies and to make sure that the Chileans can hold up to any NATO obligations before being granted NATO membership. Currently CVN-71 is 90 miles north of the Falkland islands and will be performing blue water operations until otherwise assigned. Britain has given full access to the 'Amber West' bombing range which consists of several bomb areas, strafing pits and live targets for practicing various weapons training. Currently the range is closed as they are completing their recent Falkland fest' exercise that is set to wrap up 7 days from today. Once open allied forces will be able to use the range once flight plans are filed.
