Flight - Saturday - April 20 2100 Eastern - Marianas Map

Sign up for a little night cap!  ... and gambling with your virtual lives!

F-16's Available if anyone wants one...or we can all be on the boat....sort of.

Colt 1: SPECTRE, SQUIRREL, spare
Dodge 2: CHUNKS, COSTA
Chevy 3: TRASH PANDA, KESTREL, spare

SYNOPSIS: Two hours ago, sevaral F-18s from VMFA-115 intercepted Chinese Navy aircraft supposedly conducting freedom of navigation exercises near the Marianas Islands.  It is not yet clear who fired first, but aircraft were downed on both sides in an exchange of fire.  Two VMFA-115 aircraft were downed and the pilots ejected.  We are launching CSAR operations.  China lost at least 4 aircraft, so we anticipate that China is also conducting CSAR in the area.  At this time there has been no communication from Washington.  We are moving our alert condition to Yellow, with ROE of do not fire unless fired upon, and launching VMFA-115 F-18s to cover the CSAR operations.  Two VMFA-115 F-18s that diverted to Tinian for low fuel state are heading to Anderson to top off and rearm.  They will likely be first in the AO and will cover the southern portion of the AO.  Anderson has scrambled two F-16s and an AWACS, established condition YELLOW, and activated air defenses.  Two additional flights of F-18s will depart from the Roosevelt and cover the main CSAR AO and the northern portion thereof.  Initial reports from pilots involved in the engagement indicate that China may have copied F-18s for use in Naval operations.  It also appears that the Chinese have set up some sort of field hospital on Anatahan island, so be mindful of overflying the area until a proper recon has been.
