In this thread, you will find all the relevant information needed to get started with Virtual Carrier Wing 1. We ask that information in this thread be kept to only wing members.

First off, for guys just starting with the wing, welcome. There are a few things here that we use that will be mandatory. We are a ramp start to shutdown wing. What this means, is that all flights done here are started with a cold jet in a shutdown state. All members are expected to know how to ramp start the F-18.

Every member must have Discord installed on their computer and be on it while they are on ANY VCAW-1 server, this is not optional.

Simple Radio (SRS)
This is an absolute MANDATORY program. This mimics real-world radios and no flights will be flown in the wing without members being on SRS. If you are having problems with this program then please do not leave it until guys are flying to try and fix it. Fix it beforehand.

SRS will Auto Connect when connecting to our Wing servers.


Wing skins:
At VCAW-1 we have our own personalized skins for members once they have completed their training programs. You will need to download the Wing Skin Pack as all members are expected to be wearing the correct skins whenever they are flying with the wing. This means that the 115 and 321 members are expected to fly with their personalized skins, and the 106 members are expected to fly with the 106 Gladiators skin. Please do not fly with other members skin.

Download the above zip file and extract to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet

if you do not have an FA-18C_hornet file in your DCS open beta then you will need to create one.
